National Museum of Ethnology Lisbon Portugal
The National Museum of Ethnology created in 1965 is located in Lisbon, in the Restelo area.
As its name implies, this museum shows artifacts of peoples, so-called primitive, of varied origins.
Initially the museum had only temporary exhibitions, but later this situation was changed to permanent exhibitions as well.
This museums collection includes collections of pieces from peoples of various origins such as Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Indonesia, Timor, Macau, the Amazon (Wauja Indians). ) and Portugal. Of note are objects from Portuguese rural life and a reasonable collection of traditional musical instruments.

The museum, many things, stand out: the shadow theater of Bali; the dolls of southwest Angola; Cabindas cookware lids; Mali masks and puppets; Portuguese popular musical instruments; Rio de Onors splints and Franklims sculpture, which result mostly from collections studied through an intensive program of internships that the museum has been promoting. Also noteworthy is the possibility of visiting two reserve spaces: the Galleries of Rural Life and the Galleries of the Amazon.
