Lavras lift is one of the most secret in Lisbon and will give a beautiful viewpoint
Inaugurated on April 19, 1884, it connects Largo da Anunciada and Rua Câmara Pestana, through Calçada do Lavra.

The funicular was built by the Portuguese engineer Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard, (also responsible for the design of numerous similar works [1] ), and opened on April 19, 1884.
The Lavra Lift was closed due to malfunction between July 8 and August 12, 2011, and the reopening depended on missing material.

The entrances and exits of each carriage shall be through two doors fitted with a pantograph gate and situated at the lower outermost end on either side of the rising active control station.
The track is 188 m, with an average slope of 22.9%, on a double-track track built into the ordinary road pavement, with 90 cm gauge and central slot for cable connection.
